Advanced DJ setup

Pick the FLX10 or the REV7 to play from a laptop, or the XDJ-AZ to play from USB drives with no laptop, with the layout and feel of the CDJ-3000 and DJM-A9 found in clubs. Its XLR master outputs run into an 18-inch powered sub, and the sub's two link outputs feed a pair of 12-inch powered tops for stereo. XLR cables throughout. The HDJ-X10 plugs into the 1/4-inch headphone jack with the adapter in its box.

How it connects, step by step

  1. FLX10 to laptop over USB; on Windows, install AlphaTheta's DDJ-FLX10 audio driver first. It has two USB-C ports, so a second DJ can connect a laptop for back-to-back sets.
  2. Two XLR cables from the XLR master outputs (left and right) into the sub's two combo inputs.
  3. XLR cable from each of the sub's two link outputs into a YXL12P top, one per side. Set the tops to sub mode so they only play what the sub does not.
  4. HDJ-X10 into the 1/4-inch headphone jack, using its threaded 1/4-inch adapter.
  5. Put one YXL12P on a speaker pole in the sub's pole mount and the other on a speaker stand, horns above head height. We do not stock poles or stands.
  6. Set the sub level first with a bass-heavy track, then match the top. Use the 1/4-inch TRS booth output for a separate monitor speaker in the booth.
  7. A 3-pin XLR DMX cable from the DMX output runs lighting from rekordbox.
