For venues and performers

Beginner live venue setup

Pick the YXL10P, or the Electro-Voice EVIVA 12P with 1,000 W and Bluetooth. The M1 runs into the MG06X on XLR, and the mixer’s balanced XLR output runs into the speaker. Two CMI-100 cables connect the whole chain.

Right for you if you run sound for a bar, a band, a service, a class or an event.

How it connects, step by step

  1. M1 on an XLR cable into channel 1 of the MG06X. Press the 80 Hz high-pass switch to cut rumble.
  2. XLR cable from the mixer's balanced XLR output into the YXL10P's XLR Main In.
  3. The speaker on a speaker stand, horn at head height, in front of the mic. The M1's cardioid pattern minimizes spill and feedback.
  4. Add a little SPX reverb on the vocal. Play music from a phone through the mixer's stereo channel, or straight into the speaker over Bluetooth; both take it.
  5. Second speaker later: XLR from the YXL10P's link output into the next one.

Every step is from the makers' own manuals and product pages, checked October 2026.
