How it connects, step by step
- FLX10 to the laptop with the USB cable in the box. On Windows, install AlphaTheta's DDJ-FLX10 audio driver first.
- Two XLR cables from Master 1 (left and right) on the controller into the sub's two combo inputs.
- XLR from each of the sub's two link outputs into a YXL12P, one per side. Set the tops to sub mode so they only play what the sub does not.
- Put one YXL12P on a speaker pole in the sub's pole mount and the other on a speaker stand, horns above head height. We do not stock poles or stands.
- Charge the GMU-M100 mic and receiver before the event: Gemini rates the mic at about 10 hours and the receiver at about 5. Plug the receiver straight into MIC 2, a 1/4-inch jack.
- Two AA batteries in the HT-300 handheld last over 14 hours, EV says. Power the R300 receiver from its adapter, run ClearScan to find the clearest channel and EZsync the handheld to it, then XLR from the receiver's balanced output into MIC 1.
- Set the MIC switch to TALKOVER: when someone speaks, the music drops by 18 dB (Pioneer's default) and comes back after. Set the mic's LEVEL while someone talks at toast volume, and keep the mic behind the speakers so it cannot feed back.
- MIC 1 takes an XLR mic, for a second speaker or a backup.
- MIC 2's 1/4-inch jack takes a second mic, for another speaker or a backup.
- HDJ-X10 into the 1/4-inch headphone jack, using its threaded 1/4-inch adapter.
