Is it right for you?
The RE50 interview mic on a longer 242 mm handle: omnidirectional and dynamic, with a shock-isolated aluminum case and a four-stage pop filter.
Great for
- On-camera interviews and standups
- Press scrums and sideline reports
- Field reporting in wind
Description
The RE50L is the long-handle version of Electro-Voice's RE50 interview mic: the same omnidirectional dynamic element on a 242 mm (9.52") body, which keeps the reporter's hand out of the shot. A high-mass zinc acoustic chamber is shock-mounted inside a machined-aluminum case, so handling, clothing and cable noise stay out of the signal, and a four-stage pop filter blocks wind, plosives and dust. The omnidirectional pattern picks up voices at any angle from 80 Hz to 13 kHz, and the non-reflecting semi-gloss black finish is made for on-camera use.
Key Features
- Omnidirectional dynamic element, 80 Hz–13 kHz
- Shock-isolated high-mass zinc acoustic chamber for very low handling, clothing and cable noise
- Four-stage pop filter against wind, plosives and dust
- Non-reflecting semi-gloss black finish for on-camera use
- 150-ohm output that works with 50–150 and 250-ohm inputs
- Passive dynamic mic: no battery or phantom power needed
